MY REVIEW ON TURMERIC POWDER FACIAL MASK

I recently had this terrible acne i never knew existed. Right from Adam i never had acne, maybe very minor due to that time of the month coming. so i went online and did an extensive research to the cure to my acne. i found so many options. i found;
  • Cinnamon powder facial mask,
  • chocolate facial mask,
  • banana facial mask,
  • turmeric facial mask,
  • egg white facial mask and just to mention a few.
But what caught my attention about turmeric powder was the health benefits it had, Don't get me wrong the above mentioned facial mask is quite as good.

Health Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric, also known as curcuma longa, is a very common herb. Often referred to as the “Queen of Spices,” its main characteristics are a pepper-like aroma, sharp taste and golden color. People across the globe use this herb in their cooking.
According to the Journal of the American Chemical Society, turmeric contains a wide range of antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anticarcinogenic, antimutagenic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also loaded with many healthy nutrients such as protein, dietary fiber, niacin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, sodium, potassium, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and zinc. Due to all these factors, turmeric is often used to treat a wide variety of health problems.
Enough said, i was really impressed with turmeric powder and i decided to make my own home-made recipe!
ingredients you'll need ;
  • turmeric powder
  • lemon juice
  • baking flour
  • milk or pure plain yoghurt
  • almond,coconut or olive oil
  • 100% pure honey
how to mix it;
  • 2 tablespoon of baking flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • some few drops of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of milk or yoghurt
  • few drops of oil (coconut,almond or olive)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

steps to mixing

  1. mix the turmeric and flour in a clean glass of ceramic bowl
  2. add the cup of milk or yoghurt depending on the one you could get your hand on, mix till you get a paste.

  3. add the lemon juice to the paste and mix
  4. add the coconut oil to the paste and mix
  5. finally, a spoon full of honey and mix properly
  6. put a thin layer of the paste on your face and neck avoiding your eye area. there is nothing more painful than the mixture spilling or touching your eye. that is why i always suggest making the paste not to thick and not too watery but just right enough to stay put. leave mixture one the face for 15-20 minutes. wash of with warm water and pat dry with your face towel. finally i moisturize with my aloe Vera gel. you could use any moisturizer you have available but not too harsh to irritate your acne.

PS: This mixture don't only work for acne. its also a good remedy for;
  • dark spots
  • wrinkles
  • glowing skin
  • brightening of the skin
  • scars
  • etc
hope my remedies helped you guys. I'll be coming back with an update on my acne in two weeks. but till then stay kicking and i love you all!!! and don't forget to FOLLOW and COMMENT if you think you will try this recipe.
xoxo
